JULY 3rd 2010 - TO CELEBRATE SIR CLIFF RICHARD’S 70th BIRTHDAY

Gemstone Hope Appeal is holding a Ball at The Savoy, Strand, London on July 3rd 2010 in aid of The Caron Keating Foundation. (The Savoy is currently undergoing a £100 million face lift!). There will be a Champagne Reception, 3 course meal, coffee and petite fours plus half bottle of wine per person, all for £150 per person. £85 deposit now and the balance by March 8th 2010. THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL - WOMEN OF ROCK

November was an excellent month for the Foundation, starting officially with the ‘Women of Rock’ concert. It was a sensational night with stars ranging from  Joss Stone, Jamelia, Bonnie Tyler, Melanie C, Escala, Bananarama, Sharon Corr, Nerina Pallot, Tulisa and the cast of Mamma Mia and many more. The evening was so successful that we all hope it will become either an annual or biannual event. We do not know at the moment how much the evening raised but will keep you posted

ZOE LUCKER

The famous actress from ‘Footballers’ Wives’ and many other series, has just donated £75,000 from her winnings in Celebrity, I Want to be a Millionaire.  We, at the Foundation are so grateful that Zoe and people like her, continue to support Caron’s Foundation.

WATCH OUT FOR GLORIA’S NEW TV PROGRAMME

This will be on Sky Real Live starting July.  There are 10 programmes in the series, investigating the whole subject of ‘Angels’ which of course Caron implicitly believed in.  Each programme will reconstruct an unusual angel visitation in unusual circumstances.  All these stories will be discussed by an Angel expert and a Professor of Psychology who is rather sceptical on the subject!

MEMORABLE EVENING AT 10 DOWNING STREET

This memorable evening supporting a worthy cause was held on November 25th and its success was down to two remarkable women; Gloria Hunniford and the Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown. The link between them was Gloria’s beautiful daughter Caron. Sarah and Caron were almost precise contemporaries and both went to Bristol University. When the Foundation was first set up four years ago, Sarah was also there at the launch. Sarah played hostess for the evening in the historic reception rooms on the first floor of Ten Downing Street and mentioned that in those 4 years the Foundation has raised £2 million. Eighty people - including a sprinkling of famous faces - who have helped achieve that staggering figure, had been invited to this private party to be thanked for their tireless work. Sarah spoke without notes about the energy generated by Caron in her all-too-brief life, and how that energy was being kept alive by the Foundation. ‘I think of it as an ongoing celebration of Caron,’ Sarah said. ‘Which means her memory will never die’.
