This amount goes towards a project to provide a log cabin in the grounds of Shimna Valley Holiday House in Newcastle, Co. Down. The log cabin will provide a hangout facility and treatment room for teenagers with cancer. www.nicfc.com

Sarah Lee Trust £10,000,

The centre provides aromatherapy, acupuncture, counselling, reflexology, massage, shiatsu and visualisation. The Caron Keating Foundation donation however will provide new creative therapy sessions. A spokesperson said ‘Group sessions, using creative mediums such as paint, clay and music offers an opportunity for people to explore, express and share thoughts and feelings, sometimes without the need for words in a safe contained environment.’ www.sarahleetrust.org

LADY McADDEN BREAST SCREENING UNIT £5000

This Essex based charity provides education in breast awareness to women 18 years-old and over and screens by mammography from aged 44 years. They have existed for 28 years, served over 54,000 clients and see 10,000 ladies per year.

THE RAINBOW CENTRE for children affected by cancer and bereavement, Bristol. £6000

The donation will provide for one year the homeopathy support project. The project itself provides consultations and remedies to any sufferer or family member who needs support. Stress, grief and anxiety can also be helped with the right remedy and both adults and children may be offered this valuable help when appropriate. www.rainbow-centre.org
