South East Cancer Help Centre £10,000
Purley, Surrey. The centre provides complementary therapies and counselling to those affected by cancer and their families, over a wide area of South London and Surrey. Gloria visited the centre in May to see the work being carried out and was most impressed. One lady for example, who is trying to cope with cancer, said she had hardly been able to get out of bed with depression, but since discovering the centre, is a new person. She can cry if she wants to, or laugh if she wants to and really appreciates the feel good treatments she gets there. A treatment room has been named after Caron. www.cancer-help-centre.org.uk
